Never Lie Audiobook Review
A remote manor, a missing couple, and a recording that may tell the truth—or lead you somewhere worse.
A little more about the listen
If what you want from The Housemaid is the compact Freida McFadden experience—an isolated setting, secrets behind a respectable facade, and a story built to keep the pages turning—Never Lie is the most direct follow-up here. Newlyweds Tricia and Ethan find a house with a history, and the clues arrive through an unsettling set of recordings.
The listening experience
Leslie Howard keeps the narration clean and quick, allowing the short runtime and escalating revelations to do their work. This is a performance designed for momentum rather than theatrical flourish.
Best for
Listeners who want another fast, twist-led Freida McFadden thriller in a single sitting or two.
The honest note
Its appeal is pace and reveal structure, not deep character development; listeners wanting a more layered domestic mystery should choose The Family Upstairs instead.
Worth considering for listeners who want another fast, twist-led freida mcfadden thriller in a single sitting or two. The honest note is the deciding reservation to weigh before spending a credit: Its appeal is pace and reveal structure, not deep character development; listeners wanting a more layered domestic mystery should choose The Family Upstairs instead.
