Oona Out of Order Audiobook Review
A woman wakes up in a different year of her own life and has to make peace with the person she becomes.
A little more about the listen
Oona’s unusual chronology turns the familiar life-choices question into a playful, sometimes painful experiment. The book is lighter than The Midnight Library, but it still understands that a life is more than its most impressive-looking version.
The listening experience
Brittany Pressley keeps Oona’s humour and vulnerability in balance, making the jumps in age and circumstance easy to follow.
Best for
Listeners who want a warmer, more comic alternate-life story.
The honest note
Its tone is buoyant even when the subject matter turns serious, so readers seeking Haig’s more overtly philosophical mood may find it breezier.
Worth considering for listeners who want a warmer, more comic alternate-life story. The honest note is the deciding reservation to weigh before spending a credit: Its tone is buoyant even when the subject matter turns serious, so readers seeking Haig’s more overtly philosophical mood may find it breezier.
